Model Spotlight: Natalia Vodianova

Russian supermodel Natalia Vodianova (Vod-ia-Novah) aka the face of Calvin Klein is a model favorite of mine. My love for Nata [thats what the fashion industry calls her] first started when I came across her spring 04 Calvin Klein ad in Vogue magazine, since then she has had a place in my top 10. Natalia didn't have it easy growing up, she endured alot from her mothers abusive boyfriends to having no money to eat. Natalia is a model fairytale story, a true rags to riches story that is. At age 15 she and a friend got a apartment together in Russia, she opened up a small fruit stand and enrolled in modeling classes after a agent told if she learned English and took classes at a model academy she would be a supermodel (speak over my life please!). Well after 3 months she moved to Paris and signed with the Viva agency at age 17. After signing things quickly picked up, Gucci made her their new face for a perfume line. Later she was hired to appear in a Calvin Klein fashion show, and from their the rest is history. WORK NATA!
